Fluted Sunburst Corner Rosette

A square burst of carved pleats, four sunrises radiating from the corners. This decorative rosette reads like folded fabric turned to wood: each corner throws out a fan of tapering flutes, and where they meet the edges, plump rope-like bands wrap across the sides, framing a clean square window at the centre. Little carved beads sit at the inner corners like fixing studs, adding a jewelled focal point to an otherwise flowing design. It is a classic furniture applique — the kind of onlay you glue to a cabinet door panel, a headboard, a mirror surround, or the centre of a ceiling medallion to lift plain joinery into something ornamental. The strict four-way symmetry means it tiles and mirrors cleanly across a piece. Print / CNC notes: • Cut as a 2.5D relief; a tapered ball-nose finishing pass will smooth the fan valleys and rope curves. • Hardwood carves crisply, but primed MDF is fine for a painted or gilded finish. • Scale to your panel — the central square can be sized to frame a knob, escutcheon or inlay. • Sand along the flute grooves and knock back the bead highlights before finishing.
