Wild Rose Round Rosette Applique

One wild rose, frozen mid-bloom in deep relief. This round applique is a single five-petal flower: five broad, softly cupped outer petals open around a busy inner ring of slender stamen-like petals, all closing on a domed, finely ribbed central boss like the eye of the bloom. The carving is genuinely deep, so it throws real shadow and reads as hand-cut rather than stamped. It's a versatile ornament, working as a corner rosette on a door or cabinet, a centre medallion for a panel, a ceiling-rose motif, or a decoration for a keepsake-box lid. Print / CNC notes • On a CNC router, rough with an end mill then finish with a tapered ball-nose to reach down between the petals; mount on round stock for a clean disc. • FDM printing: lay it flat, flower up, no supports, every petal overhang is gentle enough to bridge. • Being radially symmetric, it scales up or down beautifully without any distortion. • As a glue-on applique, keep the back flat and un-sanded so it bonds to furniture cleanly. • Finish in a warm timber with a dark wax pressed into the petal valleys, or prime and paint it as an antique-gilt medallion.
