Description

A blooming rosette caught mid-open, framed in a crisp square tile. This relief carving stacks two tiers of long, pointed petals around a raised central button, the lower ring fanning wide to the corners while the inner ring lifts and curls toward the middle. Slim teardrop accents sit between the petals, and the whole flower is set into a recessed square border that gives it a clean, architectural edge. The carving is symmetrical and low-to-mid depth, so it throws soft, even shadows across the surface. It's a natural fit for cabinet doors, drawer fronts, headboard centres and furniture appliqués, or simply as a decorative wall tile in a hallway or bedroom. Repeated in a row it makes a handsome frieze; single, it's a tidy focal medallion. CNC notes • Rough out with a flat or large ball-nose bit, then finish the petal valleys with a smaller tapered ball-nose for smooth flowing surfaces. • Close-grained hardwoods — beech, maple, cherry — hold the fine petal tips far better than soft pine. • Watch the sharp petal points on the finishing pass; a shallow final stepover keeps them clean and unfrayed. • Hand-sand the raised petal ridges and seal before finishing; it also prints well in resin or FDM as a decorative panel if you'd rather not cut wood.
