Six-Petal Flower Rosette Boss

A plump six-petal bloom with a button heart. This rosette is a chunky, softly domed flower: six rounded petals radiate from a raised central boss, each petal creased down the middle so it swells at the tip and dips toward the core. There's nothing fussy about it — the forms are full, smooth and confident, the sort of carved flower head used as a corner block, a newel-post cap, a drawer accent or a repeating stud along a rail. It's a workhorse ornament for furniture makers and restorers who need a clean, classic floral boss that reads well from across a room. CNC notes: • The whole piece is rounded relief, so a ball-nose finishing pass gives the smooth petal domes; a flat end-mill will facet them. • The valleys between petals are the deepest cut — clear them with a roughing pass before finishing to avoid tool drag. • Almost any close-grained wood works; the symmetry makes it forgiving of grain direction. • Machine a flat underside so it seats cleanly when glued as an appliqué, or leave stock to turn it into a knob.
