Ribboned Daisy Oval Medallion

A daisy at the heart of an open oval, crowned by a fluted bow. This is a pierced, openwork medallion built on a slim raised oval ring. At its centre sits a many-petalled daisy with a round button eye, and from behind it four ribbon-like scroll leaves sweep symmetrically up and down, each ending in a neat curled frond so the design reads as a balanced X of foliage inside the frame. Capping the whole thing across the top is a fluted ribbon knot, a little gathered bow that crests the oval and lifts the composition. Because the background is cut right through, the piece throws lovely shadows when mounted against a contrasting surface. It is a natural fit as a cabinet-door centre, a headboard or bed-panel medallion, a clock or mirror surround, or a crest above a doorway. CNC / print notes • This is part through-cut, part relief: profile the open windows first, then relief-carve the daisy, scrolls and bow so they stand proud of the ring. • Hardwood shows the crisp scrollwork best; paint-grade MDF is fine if it will be finished in colour or gilt. • Use a ballnose for the rounded petals and scroll rolls, and mind the thin curled frond tips, they are the most fragile points. • As a 3D-printed onlay, print face-up with light supports only under the bow overhang.
