Framed Four-Petal Rosette Panel

A four-petal bloom framed in a crisp raised border - classic cabinet-maker's carving. At the centre sits a rounded, fluted flower boss pierced by a small hole and ringed by scalloped petals. From it, four broad pointed leaves stretch to the corners of the square, each split by a fine channel, while small C-scrolls curl into the gaps along every edge. The whole relief sits inside a stepped, recessed frame that gives it depth and a finished, tile-like presence. This is a decorative applique for furniture and interiors - the kind of motif that dresses a cabinet door, drawer front, bed headboard, ceiling boss or a square feature tile on a wall. It carries a traditional, gently Baroque feel that pairs well with oak, walnut and painted MDF. Cutting & print notes • For CNC routing, a 3D carve with a tapered ball-nose bit brings out the rounded petals and the fluting on the central boss; rough with a larger bit, then finish fine. • The frame is a good candidate for a separate profile pass so the outer edge stays sharp and square. • 3D printing? Face-up and flat needs no support; drop to around 0.12 mm layers to keep the scroll detail smooth. • Sand the raised faces, then wax, stain or gild - a warm gold or antique-bronze finish flatters the symmetry.
