Carved Flower Rosette Medallion

A bloom carved in the round, all radiating petals and a domed heart. This rosette is a symmetrical flower medallion: a ring of long, pointed petals fans out from a smooth central boss, each petal split by a deep V-groove and folded so the light rides a crisp ridge down its spine. Alternating layered petals give it genuine depth, landing somewhere between a classic architectural flower and a stylised star. It works as a corner block for door and window casings, a newel-post cap, a cabinet centrepiece, or a repeating accent across a coffered ceiling or furniture frieze. CNC notes • A round blank or a square offcut both work; a 3D finishing pass with a 1.5–2mm tapered ball nose defines the petal grooves. • Hardwoods like oak or beech hold the sharp petal tips; MDF is fine where it will be painted. • Run the grain across the widest span so the delicate tips don't chip out. • Follow the petal radius with a raster finishing path for the smoothest sheen before oiling or gilding.
