Carved Acanthus Flower Rosette

A single sculpted bloom bursting open in deep, hand-carved relief. This rosette is a symmetrical flower built from layered, pointed petals that radiate outward like a star, each one grooved down the centre and tapering to a sharp tip. At the heart stands a raised, curling bud — a fleshy central finial that pushes forward off the panel, giving the piece real depth and a strong play of light and shadow across the folds. The lower petals fan down toward a short stem, and the whole ornament sits proud, ready to be applied as a boss or centrepiece. It's the kind of appliqué that dresses up furniture, cabinet doors, bed headboards, fireplace surrounds, mirror crowns and door panels, and it reads as classic acanthus-flower carving suited to traditional and country interiors. Mount it as a corner motif, a repeating rail accent, or a single focal boss. Cut / print notes • Deep, undercut petals reward a 3D relief carve with a tapered ball-nose finishing pass; a fine stepover keeps the petal ridges smooth. • The raised central bud is the tallest point — set carving depth and Z-clearance for it, and expect the longest tool time there. • Prints cleanly in resin or FDM as an onlay; support the underside of the projecting bud and the fanned lower petals. • Seals and gilds well; a dark glaze wiped into the petal grooves emphasises the layered relief.
