Acanthus Floral Rosette Medallion

A carved sunburst of petals and scrolls, frozen mid-bloom. This is a deep-relief floral rosette — a symmetrical round medallion built around a central multi-petalled flower with a small domed button at its heart. From that daisy-like core, broad acanthus scrolls and fluted shell forms fan outward in mirrored pairs, curling like feathers to fill a roughly circular field. The cutting is generous and rounded, so light rakes across the ridges and pools in the hollows, giving the panel real depth on a wall or door. It is made to be an ornamental centrepiece: cabinet doors, a wardrobe panel, a headboard crown, a mirror or picture-frame boss, or a furniture appliqué glued over a plain flat surface. The strong bilateral symmetry also makes it a natural fit for repeat placement on paired doors. Print / CNC notes: • On a CNC router, run a roughing pass then a fine ball-nose finishing pass in oak, walnut or dense MDF; the symmetry tiles cleanly for matched pairs. • For a 3D print, lay it flat on the bed face-up — the relief is one-sided, so no supports are needed. • Use a low layer height (0.08–0.12mm) to keep the petal edges crisp, then a light sand before staining or gilding.
