Four-Petal Acanthus Rosette Appliqué

A rosette in full bloom, carved deep enough to throw real shadow. Four broad, scooped petals sweep out in a cross from a polished central bead, and between them slimmer pointed leaves and curling acanthus flames layer back toward the ground — the kind of ornament that catches raking light and looks hand-carved. It is a single-sided decorative relief, modelled for the router. Put it to work as a furniture appliqué: a cabinet-door centrepiece, a headboard medallion, a mirror-frame accent, or a rose set into a coffered ceiling. Because the back is flat, it glues straight onto any panel with no fuss. CNC / print notes • Cut in a close-grained hardwood such as oak, walnut or lime; a ball-nose finishing bit handles the concave petals cleanly. • Rough with a larger bit, then finish at a fine stepover to keep the leaf edges crisp and the central bead round. • Prefer a 3D printer? Print it as an onlay in the orientation shown, then sand and prime for paint or gilding. Scale the diameter to suit your panel before cutting.
