Description

A steamy slice of Russian bathhouse folklore rendered in deep, layered relief. The panel is shaped like a little log cabin — the classic *banya*. A pitched shingled roof crowns it, topped with two crossed carved finials, and a small four-pane window peeks from the gable. Down each side, stacks of sawn birch logs are carved end-on, their growth rings and split marks picked out one by one. Across the front a curved banner carries the Cyrillic greeting “С лёгким паром!” — the traditional “enjoy your steam” wish. A bather steps out through an open plank door, carrying a wooden pail in one hand and a leafy birch *venik* besom resting nearby, with the interior stove and bench suggested behind. This is a decorative wall plaque for a sauna, bathhouse, changing room or a themed bar — a very Eastern-European piece of folk humour and hospitality. Cut notes • This is genuine multi-depth relief: rough the background down first, then step up through the logs, figure and lettering. • A fine tapered ball-nose is essential for the venik foliage, the log rings and the face. • Carve in lime, alder or birch for authenticity; seal well if it will live in a humid room. • Mount as a hanging plaque rather than structural trim. Can also be resin-printed at a smaller scale as a shelf ornament.
