Seated Bearded Faun Figure

A whiskered woodland faun takes a mischievous seat. This decorative figure shows a jolly bearded faun — part satyr, part green-man — perched on a rustic plank bench. His broad face is framed by a bushy moustache and beard with an almost leonine, whiskered grin, and his wide eyes give him a playful, watchful look. He sits with one leg crossed over the other, one hand gathering a thick spray of oak leaves that drapes across his lap. The bench beneath him is carved with simple grain and chevron marks. It reads as a classical ornamental carving in the tradition of tavern corbels and garden statuary. Displayed on a shelf, mantel or within a folklore and mythology collection, he brings a dose of old-world woodland humour. Print notes • Resin gives the crispest beard, leaf veins and facial detail; FDM is fine scaled up with a fine nozzle. • Support the outstretched foot, the crossed leg and the underside of the leaf cluster. • Print tilted so the face avoids support scarring. • Stain or paint to imitate carved oak, or leave it in a warm timber tone for a classic look.
