Game Bird Carved Hunting Knife

An ornamental knife worked end to end with the story of a game hunt. The piece is a full decorative knife rendered as a relief carving — a long, gently upswept blade flowing into a sculpted grip, every surface busy with sporting motifs. Along the blade, shaped cartouches frame a flushing game bird, a pheasant or grouse breaking cover mid-flight, flanked by scrolling acanthus leaves, while the ground behind them is filled with a fine cross-hatched basketweave that throws the raised panels forward. The pommel end carries another bird tucked among foliage, the grip swells with the same leafwork, and a small ringed cap finishes the tip. This is a display carving, not a working blade — a trophy-style ornament for hunters, sporting lodges and country-pursuit collectors. Rout it as a wall-hung ornament or plaque, a mantel display, or a gift for a game shooter; at smaller scales it works as drawer-front or cabinet ornament.
