Slim Pierced Centre Onlay Molding

A slim carved crest with a jewel of pierced openwork at its heart. Despite the mandala tags, this model is actually a long, gently arching horizontal onlay, a decorative molding that tapers to fine points at both ends and curves subtly along its length. At the centre sits its signature feature: a raised, sculpted ornament pierced right through with two smooth teardrop-shaped voids, split by a small central shield that drops into a pointed keel below the main bar. The overall silhouette is clean and modern-organic, more sweeping accent than busy antique flourish. It works as a centred crest on a drawer apron, a mirror or headboard header, a cabinet valance, a door rail or the top edge of a bespoke sign, wherever you want a single elegant horizontal gesture with a focal detail. Print / CNC notes • It is long and low, so bed length and orientation matter: lay it flat with the relief facing up and check it fits your machine before scaling. • For CNC, the thin tapered wings are delicate, so leave onion-skin tabs and machine the pierced centre with a small bit for clean inner curves. • 3D printed flat it needs almost no support; only the central pierced voids may want a whisper of it underneath. • Sand the tapered tips gently, and pick a wood or paint finish that lets the pierced centre cast a shadow. • Mirror-safe: the piece is symmetric left to right about its centre motif.
