Description

A decorative sheathed hunting knife, its scabbard carved with a boar bursting through the undergrowth. This is an ornamental piece rather than a working blade. The render shows two components: a contoured handle wrapped in a woven basket-weave texture, and a broad, gently curved sheath. The sheath is where the artistry lives — a sunk relief panel depicts a wild boar charging through tangled foliage and grasses, bordered top and bottom by the same basket-weave banding that ties the whole design together. The blade's point just peeks out at the tip. It suits a wall plaque, a mantel display, a themed study or lodge, or a carved presentation piece for a hunter or outdoorsman. CNC / print notes • The animal-and-foliage panel is the detail-critical zone — finish it with a small tapered ball-nose (1 to 2 mm) and a fine stepover so the coarse hair and leaves read clearly. • The basket-weave borders sharpen up nicely with a v-bit pass to define the crossing weave. • In wood, choose a tight, even grain — walnut, cherry or lime — so the fine relief does not tear out. • Printing on filament? Lay each part flat with the carved face up and use a 0.08 to 0.12 mm layer height to preserve the scene; add light supports only beneath the overhanging tip. Rub dark wax into the recesses so the hunting scene pops against the lighter raised surface.
