Bull-Head Celtic Braid Baton

A turned cylinder that ends in a bull's head, wrapped in a Celtic plait. This is a stout horizontal barrel — reading like a decorative rolling pin, handle or ceremonial baton — with a lot going on along its length. One end is capped by a modelled bovine head, complete with muzzle, ears and stubby horns, set behind a couple of raised ring collars. Print / cut notes: • On a printer, split it along the cylinder axis or print vertically and cap the base — either way the plait's undercuts print far cleaner with the shaft standing upright. • The braid and the bull's facial detail both reward a fine finishing pass; slow the feed or drop the layer height through those zones. • If CNC-turned in wood, index the rotary carefully so the plait meets itself seamlessly where it wraps. • Fill and sand the ring collars for a crisp turned look before staining; a dark wax pushed into the knotwork makes the braid stand out.
