Eagle-Head Celtic Knot Handle

A raptor screams down the length of a Celtic-braided grip. This carved handle terminates at one end in a fierce bird-of-prey head — hooked beak, hooded brow, a small drilled eye — that flows into a ringed collar and a long cylindrical shaft. Along the top face runs a continuous plaited knotwork band, a tight over-under Celtic braid, capped at the far end by a stepped pommel disc engraved with delicate S-scroll flourishes. It is a handsome, functional-looking piece with the weight of a ceremonial dagger hilt, a walking-cane top or a door pull. Perfect for makers building decorative canes, letter openers, drawer and cabinet handles, tap handles or LARP / cosplay props, and equally at home as a standalone carved curio. The mix of a bold zoomorphic finial and a disciplined knot band gives it real presence. Cut / print notes • CNC in the round wants a 4th-axis or a two-sided setup; the shaft roughs quickly but the beak and knot need a fine ball-nose finishing pass. • Printing the STL: lay it horizontally and support the beak underside and the shaft's lower curve; a light layer height keeps the braid crisp. • Resin is ideal for the eye, beak edge and scroll detail at handle scale. • Seal and stain, or paint the eagle and highlight the knotwork for contrast; add a bore if you need to mount it on a rod.
