Description

A Norse-styled bearded axe dripping with knotwork and dragons. Every surface of this piece is carved: the broad axe head wears an overlapping scale texture and a rough forged edge, while the curved haft is wrapped in tight Celtic plait-work with a stylised serpent-dragon writhing just below the head. A lanyard hole at the butt finishes the look. It reads as a ceremonial or display axe rather than a working tool. Cut on a CNC router it makes a striking wall plaque or bar-top relief in oak or walnut; printed on an FDM or resin machine it becomes a LARP prop, cosplay accessory, mantel decoration or a bold gift for a Viking, Norse-mythology or Vikings-TV fan. The deep relief takes stain and dry-brushing beautifully. Print / cut notes • CNC: rough with a large bit, then detail the knotwork with a fine tapered ball-nose; the interlaced strands need a small stepover to stay crisp. • 3D print flat on its back so the carved face is up and support-free; the fine plait detail suits resin or a 0.4mm nozzle at low layer height. • Finish with a dark wash or gel stain wiped back so the raised knots and scales stand out. • Scale to a hand-prop length, or shrink it right down for a fridge-magnet-sized charm.
