Description

A bird of prey caught mid-scream, beak hooked and jaws open. This is a sculpted raptor's head in side profile — read it as an eagle, hawk or falcon. The crown sweeps back in one long aerodynamic line, there is a deep brow over the eye, and the front resolves into a sharply hooked upper beak that overhangs an open lower jaw with a pointed tongue between them. The surfaces are smooth and muscular rather than feather-detailed, giving it a stylised, almost heraldic ferocity. The shape lends itself to a walking-cane or umbrella handle, a knife or tool pommel, a newel-post topper, or a wall-mounted trophy for a study, lodge or games room. Making notes: • As a resin print, orient it beak-up and support the open jaw and the underside of the crown; fine-detail resin captures the beak tip cleanly. • As a 3D CNC carving it suits a hardwood blank on a 4-axis or rotary setup — take a fine ball-nose finishing pass across the curved cheek and beak. • Scale down for a handle grip or up for a display bust; hollow larger resin prints to save material. • Finish with a bronze, gunmetal or oiled-wood look to play up the predatory lines. A confident, single-subject piece that makes a strong focal point wherever it lands.
