Galloping Horse Celtic Handle

A long, sinuous handle carved with a galloping horse and a band of Celtic knotwork. The piece is a gently S-curved bar, a grip or pull with tapered, flattened ends, and its face tells a little story. At one end a spirited horse strides forward in low relief, mane flying; along the other end runs a woven Celtic plait that finishes in a shield-like tab filled with fine cross-hatching. A shaped notch is cut into the lower edge near the middle, giving the hand somewhere to sit or hook. It reads as rustic-meets-heraldic hardware, the sort of thing that would finish a wooden chest, a cabinet, a cane grip, a bracket or a decorative wall hook with real character. CNC / print notes • Best cut as a shallow 3D relief on a router; a fine-grained hardwood such as oak, walnut or cherry shows the horse and knotwork crisply. • Use a small ball-nose finishing bit for the mane, the interlaced plait and the cross-hatched shield, and a V-bit to sharpen the tightest lines. • Mind the curved profile: a light 3D roughing pass keeps the sweeping form true before you finish. • For 3D printing, lay it flat with the carved face up and print in one piece; sand along the curve and wipe a dark stain into the recesses so the horse and knot stand proud.
