Celtic Knotwork Carved Handle

A long, sweeping handle with an eagle's-neck curve and a secret woven along its spine. The form is all flowing line: a gently tapering shaft that dips into a shallow finger notch near the middle before rising into a broad, hooked terminal. Along that raised section runs a band of tight Celtic knotwork — interlaced strands looping over and under in a continuous plait — and it finishes in a small circular boss stamped with a laurel-wreath roundel. The notch and profile hint at a bar blade or bottle-opener handle, though it reads equally as a decorative lever, drawer pull or dresser handle. Print / CNC notes • On a router, run a fine tapered ball nose for the interlace and boss; a 30–45° finishing pass keeps the plait crisp. • The long shaft carves cleanly flat on the bed — the only real detail depth is the knot band and roundel. • Printing instead? Lay it on its flat back, no supports; 0.12mm layers hold the woven strands. • Hardwood such as oak or walnut suits the curve; ease and sand the finger notch so it feels good in the palm.
