Description

A grip sculpted entirely around the shape of a working hand. This is a chunky, ergonomic handle: the top edge is cut with a row of shallow scalloped ridges where the thumb and the knuckles settle, while the underside sweeps into deep finger grooves so each digit drops into its own hollow. One end swells into a flared pommel carrying a rectangular through-slot — a tang mount or lanyard channel — and the opposite end finishes in a rounded collar with a small round hole for a pin or cord. It is a handle master rather than a finished tool: ideal as a replacement grip for a fixed-blade knife, a file, a chisel or a stout garden tool, or as a pattern for moulding and casting. Every surface is smooth and continuous, with no sharp corners left to hot-spot the palm. On the bench: • Lay it on one flat side and split the model down the centreline for a support-free print through the finger scallops; otherwise print pommel-down and support the overhang beneath the guard. • Push perimeters to 4–5 so the grip survives real hand pressure — PETG or nylon beats brittle PLA here. • The rectangular slot may want a light pass with a file to seat your particular tang. • For CNC work, a 6 mm ball nose roughs the body and a 2 mm ball finishes the finger flutes cleanly in beech or ash.
