Spiked Morningstar War Mace

A skull-splitter straight out of a siege, all spikes and menace. This is a fantasy war-mace, or morningstar: a heavy spherical head bristling with conical spikes, its surface pocked by shallow dimpled facets and topped by a longer spear-point finial. Below the head a stepped collar drops into a tapering haft wrapped in a cross-hatched grip, finishing at a rounded pommel. It reads as pure medieval brutality and would slot straight into a cosplay loadout, onto a prop wall, or scaled right down as a loose weapon for a tabletop hero. Print notes • Split it at the collar and print the head and haft separately, you'll dodge most supports and get a cleaner grip. • The head prints best point-up with the finial on top; add light supports only under the outward-facing spikes. • Resin (SLA) gives razor-crisp spikes for display; FDM in PLA is fine for a lightweight, hollowed, LARP-friendly version. • A steel-and-rust scheme sells the weight instantly: dark wash sunk into the dimples, dry-brushed silver caught on the spike tips. • Shrink it to roughly hand-height at 32mm if you want it as a separate weapon for a miniature.
