Gem-Boss Plank Round Shield

A stout round shield of stylised planks, bound in leather straps and lit by a gem at its heart. This is a game-ready prop model, not a routing panel. The face is built from chunky horizontal boards with deep gaps between them, held by four riveted metal fittings arranged in a cross around the centre — each fitting studded with a domed bolt head. Dead centre sits a faceted, low-poly jewel boss that glows warm against the sandy timber. Around the rim, wide leather wraps loop over the edge at the four corners, giving it that hand-lashed, adventurer's-kit look. The whole style is clean and slightly cartoonish — crisp facets, bold shapes, game-asset energy. Great as a cosplay or LARP shield when scaled up, a desk or shelf display piece, a chunky fridge magnet or wall badge, or a tabletop miniature accessory at small scale. Print notes: • Print the shield face-up flat on the bed — the back is flat, so it needs no supports and the plank gaps come out clean. • The central gem is the star: print it separately in clear or translucent filament (or resin) and glue it in, optionally over an LED for a real glow. • FDM at 0.16 mm holds the facets fine; bump to 0.12 mm if you want sharper jewel edges. • Paint the boards a warm wood tone, dry-brush the rivets steel, leather the straps brown, and gloss-coat only the gem so it reads as the one shiny element.
